Former Manchester City forward Robinho has said that Manchester City are progressing in the right direction towards their quest of dominating the domestic and European football.

Robinho was the first major arrival at Manchester City after the club signed him for a then British transfer record fee of £ 32.5 million from Real Madrid in the summer of 2009.

However, Robinho did not last long at Manchester City, as he failed to settle with life in England. He soon left to Italian club AC Milan after an initial loan deal was converted into a permanent one by the Italian club.

Manchester City have extraordinary ambitions and rightly so. This is because of their huge wealth coming from the Abu Dhabi investors, who have poured in more than £ 500 million just in bringing new players. They are targeting Champions League glory, something that Robinho believes that they will achieve soon.

Even though the club were knocked out of the competition this season in the group stages itself, Robinho believes that they will have the ability to win the competition soon. The pacey Milan striker also said that the club are progressing in the right direction in order to do so.

"They have the money, which is the most important thing. They lack experience in the Champions League, which allows you to attract new players. But I think they are on the right track, although Chelsea also started well", Robinho told Band. Chelsea were the first club of this kind in England, but has failed to win the Champions League up until now. However, Robinho believes that his former club Manchester City will win this competition due to their different approach unlike Chelsea. Manchester City have been sticking by the English tradition of believing in the manager according to Robinho.
